Advanced Retriever Seminar with Carol Cassity

When: June 16-18, 2017

Where: Mt. Ararat Farms, Port Deposit, MD

Time: Seminar will begin promptly at 8:30am

What to Bring: Standard HT gear for weather, chair, paper and pen, water  

                           for your dog if running

Fees: KRC Member: Handler/Dog: $195; Auditor: $165

          Non-Member: Handler/Dog: $245; Auditor: $195

           Payment is non-refundable, however substitute participants are

           allowed if they meet the standard requirements.

Limited Entries: There are a total of 12 working spots for SH and MH level

                             Dogs and 30 auditor spots (any level).

KRC Members will be given priority on the working slots until (First come first serve)-April 15tht. After that time all working spots left will be available to non members as well.    

Final deadline is June 1st.

This is an advanced seminar for dog/handler teams in the transition (everything after junior) and advanced stages of training. Field setups will be supplemented with yard drills that will enhance handling and marking concepts run with participating dogs.

There will be set ups covering a variety of training and handling challenges, for example:

how to break down a multiple marks for training purposes: identifying suction and factors, paying particular attention to the handlers role dealing with such. Carol will provide comments and suggestions on each run.  


About Carol Cassity:

Carol Cassity is the author of “Building a Retriever, Drills & More”. Carol has been training her own dogs as an amateur since 1993. She has had experience working with a variety of pro trainers and breeds while working towards advanced titles in the hunt test game. Carol has worked with Chessies, Goldens, Labs, Tollers, Poodles, Boykins, Drahthaars, Curlies and Flat Coated Retrievers. She competes at both AKC and HRC hunt tests. Carol is a AA Finished judge in HRC. She has put multiple hunt test titles on her Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and Golden Retrievers, including: Grand Hunting Retriever Champion, Master Hunter, Hunting Retriever Champion, and Upland Hunter. Carol’s dog Tally was the first Chesapeake Bay Retriever to achieve the titles of Grand Hunting Retriever Champion, 500 points and Master Hunter in the United States and the first of any breed in Florida.
